Assistant Registrar
These positions require incumbent to manage and oversee the operations of the National Court Registry and to ensure Registry is managed according to expectation.
Key Accountabilities for Assistant Registrar position:
- To ensure that the Court Registry functions, and other court services are provided in an efficient and effective manner.
- To lead and manage operations of the registry services at an expected standard.
- To lead in judicial and registry meetings in a constructive manner.
- Maintain Court Registry procedures and systems in accordance with National Court Rules, Practice and procedures including other relevant legislations.
- Ensure Court Registry resources are managed and utilized in a cost effective and appropriate manner.
- Identify needs and developmental issues within the court registry and seeking strategies to resolve such issues.
- Contribute efficiency and effectiveness of Case Management through implementation of agreed case management standards and process.
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Interested Applicants must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized Institution.
- Admission as a lawyer in Papua New Guinea
- Have leadership and management skills to maintain effective and efficient Provincial court operation.
- Be able to maintain high level performance standards and shall demonstrate leadership.
- Communication should be of high-level standard and accountabilities required of these positions are delivered.
- Have at least three (3) years of legal practice dealing with Litigation matters in a Senior Management level.
- Have some knowledge about taxation of lawyers and parties Bill of Costs.
Librarian
This position requires the incumbent to provide an efficient Library & Archives and Records Management service over a widespread area aligned to modern information management practices and technology.
Key Accountabilities for Librarian Position:
- Ensure that an up to date, comprehensive, accessible nationwide library and archives record management service is available for library users
- Lead and manage a team of motivated, competent trained Library staff.
- Ensure users have appropriate assistance to maximize the benefits of the library service by providing relevant and user-friendly training and support.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the financial management of the National Judicial Staff Service by ensuring library budgets are prepared and managed within the financial plans.
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Interested Applicants must possess the following:
- Degree in Library and Information Management.
- Five (5) years Library experience of which at least 3 years must be in management roles.
- High Standard of research skills.
- Leadership and management skills

Main Key Accountabilities/Key Result Areas (KRAs)
- Oversee the development, management, and implementation of stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee the development, management, and implementation of the NJSS ITD business strategy.
- Oversee the development, management, and implementation of the NJSS ITD compliance, risk, and security strategy.
- Oversee the development, management, and implementation of NJSS ITD services/solutions and delivery strategy
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences
Interested Applicant for this position of Director - Information Technology must possess.
- Bachelors or Master’s / Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- At least 5 years’ work experience in Senior Management information and technology position.
- Sound knowledge and experience in network, server, and storage technologies.
- Leadership, Management and Supervisory Skills.
- Project Management Skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to accept a significant level of responsibility and accountability with strong knowledge of project management principles.
- Knowledge of case management operations and processes, budget management and strategic planning, as they pertain to court services and operations.
